About Bryan

I was born in York County in 1961, into a working class family. As a child my heroes were not actors or rock stars, but rather the career military men of my family. My role models were not bankers, or lawyers, but rather construction workers and mechanics. The person who had the greatest influence on my life was not the Plant Manager of the mill, but rather just a guy working in the Research and Development Department.

My mother told me long ago, "There is nobody better than you, and you are not better than anyone...we are all equal..." I have lived my life by these words.

Like many, throughout my early adult years, I held a number of jobs. It wasn't until I finished college that I focused on a particular field, animal health and welfare. This focus ultimately led to the Humane Society of Charlotte in 1996, where I remain today. I could have made more money in a different field, but the satisfaction that I have experienced can't be expressed in monetary terms.

I began my affiliation with the Green Party about two years ago. The primary reason for my joining, is that the Ten Key Values are totally consistent with my own values. Also, unlike the other political parties, the Green Party doesn't shift to the left or right for political gain, we are what you see.
